Juki is a world leading brand in the manufacture of sewing machines for the home and industrial sewing machine markets. Juki has been producing home sewing machines for over 65 years and our competency in making efficient and reliable machines has only improved over that time. Our Japanese designed products are renowned for their innovative technology and superior quality. Juki’s insight into the world of sewing machine manufacturing began with home machines in 1947 and the companies original strengths lying in home sewing machines has only strengthened and improved through the decades.

Through the years keeping in tandem with advancing technologies Juki has been able take advantage of its industrial technology and adopt it for the home sewing machine market. Juki’s ability to leverage its technologies across industrial and home machines has resulted in the firm leading the way in advancements for the home sewing capabilities. In 1954 Juki produced the first rotalix needle take up system for the home sewing market; in 1978 we crated the first automatic thread trimmer and automatic needle threading technology available for home use, and in 1985 Juki developed the first auto-thread tension system for household machines.These pioneering advancements are still in use in the top quality machines around the world today. In 1976 the first Juki home overlock machines were manufactured with use of industrial serger technology (MO-100). When released into the global market, these machines were considered a major breakthrough in home sewing capabilities and became renowned with semi-professionals and novices alike. As a testament to the durability of the Juki home sewing machines there are still inquiries about accessories for the MO-100 because some people still own their original serger to this day! In more recent times Juki leverage its industrial capabilities with the Exceed series of home sewing machines; we fitted a box feed system as well as a foot controller for thread trimming which is usually not seen in household models.

Juki began their original home sewing machine business in 1945. The first home machines were manufactured in 1947 and were marketed in Japan and other countries around the globe. Although Juki grew to become an industrial sewing machine giant, the original sewing machines produced were home sewing machines.

In 1953 Juki began the sale of industrial sewing machines. Beginning with basic machines for the garment plant, their research evolved through the years, bringing sewing to a higher level of technology. With the development of electronic functions and motors, the path was paved for advances in labour saving devices providing increased productivity, as well as operator comfort and safety. These high tech innovations, fueled by Juki research and development, placed the company in the forefront of the global needle trade markets.

Juki’s revolutionary advancements in home technology include the development of the first rotary needle thread take-up system in 1954, the first automatic thread trimmer and auto needle threader in 1978, and the first auto tension system in 1985. These breakthroughs in home sewing brought about the progression of the new HZL models at the time.

In 2009 Juki released their first 3 models which have a Box Feed System – Industrial Sewing Machine Technology.

Overlockers on the Scene
The first Juki home overlock machines were manufactured with industrial overlock technology. When released to the market, these machines were considered a major breakthrough in home sewing capabilities and became famous in the home market. Home dealers and industrial distributors alike were delighted with the performance and durability of the new Juki Lock MO-100 Series. Many home sewers still inquire about accessories for the MO-100 because they still own their original overlocker today!

The Deming Prize for Quality
In 1981 Juki Corporation received the prestigious Deming Prize for quality control in the manufacture of industrial sewing machines. Through the years Juki was also involved in the manufacture of electronic assembly and testing equipment, as well as computer peripherals. In 2001 Juki’s commitment to sewing quality and advanced electronic technology then laid the foundation for the development of the HZL home computerized models.

Juki Brings the DX Series to the UK
In 1999 Juki brought their HZL sewing machines series and their MO overlocker series to the UK. Today Juki has entered the worldwide market with their line of home sewing machines and overlockers. The DX7 computerized model has gained increased popularity for innovation features, excellent stitch quality and ease of operation.

Juki MO-104D/114DE Overlockers
The MO-104D/MO-114D is the latest in overlock stitch technology and reflect the famous Juki durability and reliability. In addition, the tried and true MO-600 Series Pearl and Garnet Lines, first available in 1989, are still the most economical overlockers on the market today.

Juki TL-2200QVP Mini
This single needle lockstitch machine with automatic thread trimming, an extended sewing arm and high sewing speed was the first industrial type unit available to the home sewer. The machine’s popularity grew not only with quilters but with dress makers, designers and decorators alike. The latest Juki TL-2200QVP Mini for quilting and straight stitching has a growing reputation as the highest quality machine in its class on the market today. Now available with two new quilting feet, the TL-22000QVP Mini also offers an auto needle threader, foot pedal control, and knee lifter lever.
