MAKERS WHO CHOOSE JUKI
Meet the talented sewists, quilters and makers who use Juki machines every day.
From dressmaking to embroidery, quilting to bag making — they share their passion for sewing and their love of Juki.
Amanda Wilson
I am mainly a dressmaker, but I also make bags and accessories. I discovered Juki when I was looking for a new overlocker — they didn’t disappoint! I absolutely love my Juki MO2500 Sumato and wonder why I didn’t buy it sooner. The extension table is a game changer, it stops the fabric getting squished and prevents any accidents with the blade. Whatever fabric I use glides through smoothly every time.

Jen was a semi-finalist on The Great British Sewing Bee Series 5. She says: “I have a Juki NX7 and love the buttonhole clamp, the straight stitch plate swap in under 60 seconds, the built-in walking foot, the clever box feed system, the extra programmable foot pedal, the intuitive control panel, and the super-wide working space. The NX7 reflects Juki’s vast industrial machine experience — all features are practical, useful and easy to access.”

Marcus Holley
I started sewing in 2019 after being inspired by The Great British Sewing Bee season 5. I love my Juki overlocker — you know as soon as you use it that it is the upper echelon of sewing machines. The build quality and the smoothness of the moving parts are of a superior nature. I use a lot of heavyweight fabrics for my housecoats, and where other machines stutter the Juki goes through them without any hassle.

Tony White
When embarking on my sewing journey, I wanted a machine that catered for a wide variety of projects whilst being durable. I loved the wide selection of practical and decorative embroidery stitches. A decade later, I still use the same machine — it has all the functions I need and has allowed me to develop from dressmaking to quilting.

Her MO654DE overlocker, MCS1500 coverstitch and MCS-1800 require very little adjustment and simply do what she asks of them.
Mercedes Ferrari Plumridge
Mercedes lives just outside Brighton and was a contestant on Series 5 of The Great British Sewing Bee. “Having a trio of machines — the NX7, MO-654DE and MCS-1800 — it is the quality of the machines along with the quality of the stitching that I love. Whether sewing silk chiffon or using upholstery fabric, I know I can rely on my Jukis to produce a garment I am proud of.”
